Let’s Go 4-Wheeling – Red Feather Lakes

While I was back at home, I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous, summertime-in-the-rocky-mountains weather by going ‘splorin up in the hills around my dad’s place.  Roosevelt National Forest is right in his back yard, and makes an excellent place to get away.  Conveniently located about 50 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park, which conveniently attracts most of the tourists and campers and shit, the area is a pristine, quiet little nook of the mountains that makes for a good place to go for a drive.

So, I threw my dog and the camera in the old Toyota Tacoma and hit the road.  Our destination was the little town of Red Feather lakes.  But, as they say, whoever the hell they are, the journey is often more important than the destination itself.  And this is made even more accurate by the fact that I changed my mind, and thus the destination, about halfway through the trip…

But I digress, let’s go 4-wheeling.

Come back soon for pictures of the final destination: Creedmore Lakes.

Don’t be a stranger.

A Few Days at Home

Well, now that my 25-days-of-work-in-a-row ass kicking has subsided somewhat, I can finally show you those pictures of Colorado I’ve been talking about…

Summertime in the Rocky Mountains is second to none, and conveniently enough my old man lives at the foot of the Rockies in Northern Colorado.  So you know, I went there.  Spent some quality time hiking around with my dog and my old man.  Good stuff.  Anyway, have a look…

Hope you enjoyed the views.  And with that, It’s bed time in Bergheim…  More Colorado to come…

Don’t be a stranger.

Perusing Prague – The Prague Castle

Well, here’s the icing on the cake.  The last stop on my little walk around Prague was Prague Castle itself.  Well, I suppose in truth I was posted up across the river.  As with everything else in Prague, place is gorgeous.  Have a look.

And with that, it was time to retire to the hotel room, dry off a bit and get ready for the 2-week job that started the following day.  If you’re curious about the less dramatic side of the Czech Republic, you can check out my posts about Kadan, my little host town for the job.

Come back soon and we’ll go exploring in the Rocky Mountains.

Don’t be a stranger.
